The Granite Award & Sponsorships

The Stonestreet Granite Award is awarded to an actor, director, producer, screenwriter, or hyphenate who has emerged from Stonestreet Studios in-house conservatory, generally among the over 7,000 alumni of the renowned Stonestreet Screen Acting & Production Residency Program which was established in 1991. The annual Granite Award recognizes one alumnus who has significant achievements in the motion picture arts and contributes positively to the community.

The 2023 Granite Award Recipient:
Rachel Sennott

The 2023 Stonestreet Granite Award went to actor, writer, producer, comedian, and Stonestreet alumni, Rachel Sennott.

Rachel is best known for her roles in Shiva Baby, Bottoms, and Bodies, Bodies, Bodies.

Starting out as a stand-up & and online comedian, Rachel made her feature film debut in the independent Jewish comedy, Shiva Baby, in 2020. The film received critical acclaim and went to the Toronto International Film Festival and SXSW. In 2023, she reunited with the Shiva Baby writer and director, Emma Seligman, to write the coming-of-age, teen sex, comedy film Bottoms which premiered at SXSW on March 11 of this year alongside the tragic comedy I Used to Be Funny, in which she plays the leading role.

Rachel began her breakout role in HBO’s The Idol which premiered at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival.
