Post Production Manager / Cinematographer / Editor
Pati Amoroso started her career at a young age. An aspiring director, she created her first musical, Wizard of Wonderland, at age 16. After graduating Method acting, she was accepted into the prestigious Brazilian Film school, FAAP.
Whilst studying to become a filmmaker and working as assistant producer to Claudio Khans from Tatu Filmes, she was spotted as an actress. At the age of 18, she quickly jumped onto the musical theatre stage being cast as the star in Bark! The Musical (Chanel) and then embarked on a 2 year run as Sophie Sheridan in Mamma Mia! Although feeding her acting career, Pati continued directing and teaching in renowned schools/courses. Pati Amoroso wrapped up her career in Brazil after translating, directing, and producing A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum with a cast of 40 actors in a 800 seat theatre.
In 2015, Pati graduated with Honors from NYU Tisch School of the Arts. With a vast training in Speech Level Singing (Badiene Magaziner), Method acting (Caroline Thomas), Fátima Toledo technique, and Pratical Aesthetics (Atlantic Theatre Co.), she directed numerous short films (Cope, NI4NI, Bug, Can’t You See, etc.) which are currently in the festival route.
Pati Amoroso does not like to limit herself to one performance genre. She directed the hilarious webseries My Life As Morgan (Fusion Film Festival) and the creepy experimental play They’ll be Callin’ Us Witches (Radioactive Theatre Festival, Philadelphia Fringe Festival), both written and produced by fellow Stonestreet alumni. It is extremely vital to Pati that all of her projects have strong female characters that break gender stereotypes. She directed the Off-off-Broadway show, Mary V, at the Theatre for a New City and Taming the Male Chauvinist, both abundant of strong female power.
Pati started as a bright student here at Stonestreet and grew to become our Post-production manager and Cinematographer! We are glad to have her!
